  • The pulp of a vanilla bean (or alternatively vanilla extract)
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch of cinnamon

  1. Put the rice pudding, the plant drink and the salt in a saucepan and stir the ingredients together well.
  2. Bring the rice pudding to a boil and let it simmer over low heat for about 25 minutes. Stir occasionally during the cooking time so that the rice porridge does not burn.

Make rice pudding yourself in the oven: this is how it works

To bake the rice pudding, put the ingredients of our basic recipe in a casserole dish and mix everything together. Then you bake the rice pudding for about 60 minutes at 180°C instead of 30 minutes. Remember to stir the mixture once after 15-30 minutes to loosen up the rice a bit.

Towards the end of the cooking time, a milk skin usually forms on the rice pudding. If you don't like it, you can cover the rice porridge with aluminum foil. Our recipe is for about four to five people and makes about five to six servings.

Rice pudding from the microwave

We already indicated it: rice pudding is versatile. It is therefore not surprising that the dessert can be prepared in a pot, in the oven and even in the microwave. To do this, put the rice and the milk alternative in a microwave-safe bowl and boil the mixture at around 900 watts for seven minutes. Then cook the rice pudding for 25 minutes at 300 watts, stirring from time to time.
