Who are you and what do you do?
I am Ruth, 400m sprinter and psychology student.
What does your typical daily routine look like?
I plan my day around one or two training sessions. I try to create the university timetable every semester so that it fits the daily requirements of the training. It's important to me not to have to rush from A to B all day, but to be able to concentrate well, especially on training. I also cook almost every day and try to have at least one relaxing meal with my boyfriend.
What was the best moment in your career so far?
Participating in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2016 was my absolute career highlight so far and an event that I will always remember fondly!
What is important to you in your diet?
When it comes to my diet, it is important to me to know what I use when cooking so that I can avoid additives and the like as much as possible. I like to cook and eat fresh, natural and high-quality products.
What do you do in your free time?
I prefer to spend my free time with my friends and family. I love cooking and eating and when I'm on vacation I try to travel to get to know new things.
"You can recognize me from afar...?"
"I sometimes like to jump around a bit, just because or because I'm happy about something. For example about food or delicious smoothies :D"
"If I weren't an athlete, then I would be...?"
"... probably still often active in sports and perhaps already a qualified psychologist. But I am very grateful to be able to lead the life of a competitive athlete."
