Sounds too good to be true? Here is everything you need to know.

Information and interesting facts: What are rice flakes?

Nutritional values and calories: that's how healthy rice flakes are

Rice flakes have about 350 kcal, 7.5 g protein, 2 g fat and 75 g carbohydrates per 100 grams – similar to grainy milk rice. The carbs make the flakes naturally sweet.

In contrast to oats or wheat, rice flakes have one big advantage: They are gluten-free. And therefore they are suitable for people with celiac disease or gluten intolerance.

What is the difference between rice pudding flakes, rice flakes and rice pudding?

Rice pudding is short-grain, starchy rice that gives it an incredibly creamy consistency when cooked.

Rice flakes are made from cooked rice: The rice is being rolled, flattened and then dried in order to produce rice flakes.

In contrast, flakes made from rice pudding naturally taste a little sweeter as the rice variety itself has more sweet starch.

Whole grain congee is firm to the bite and grainy. Flakes, on the other hand, ensure a softer consistency and have more of a porridge consistency than firm rice pudding.

How you can use rice flakes

The mild, sweet taste makes rice flakes an all-rounder in the kitchen.

The flakes are particularly exciting for breakfast: in muesli, in porridge or as a quick rice pudding. They are great for thickening porridges and combining them with other types of grain, such as oatmeal.

Breakfast is ready: that's how fast rice flakes cook

A huge advantage of rice and rice pudding flakes: The preparation is super easy and guaranteed to be successful. Unlike rice pudding, rice flakes don't have to be cooked for 30 minutes, but can also be used directly as an ingredient in muesli, porridge or breakfast porridge.

However, if you prefer a hot breakfast, you should cook the flakes. It can be done in no time: simply boil with vegetable milk and let it soak for five minutes, that's it.

It's all about the topping

As with every bowl, the toppings play an important role. Top your rice flakes with rice pudding with fresh fruits, applesauce, rice syrup and everything you can find on your kitchen shelf.

Desiccated coconut, raisins and fresh fruits are also ideal for pimping rice pudding.
