Extreme heat can make life very difficult. Filling your stomach with unhealthy, sugary or very fatty foods in the morning goes against all intuition. However, skipping breakfast shouldn't be an option either. Although eating becomes more strenuous as temperatures rise, your body needs energy for the day - and we don't want to miss out on the morning treat anyway. Catching up on everything in the evening with a sumptuous meal also puts a strain on digestion. With our 9 ideas you can start the day full of energy and enjoy summer to the fullest!
What ingredients do I need for my summer breakfast?
Basically, nature tells you which foods are particularly suitable for a light breakfast in summer. Seasonal and regional fruit and vegetables are always a good choice and provide the much-desired cooling in summer.
You can use cooling foods generously, such as berries, melons, coconut, citrus fruits, plant-based yogurt, cucumbers, salads, avocado or certain herbs such as mint or sage.
However, you should avoid coffee and other drinks containing caffeine. You should also generally avoid too much sugar and fat in your diet, but especially in summer. Hearty foods require a lot of energy to be digested by the body and cause the body temperature to rise.
